Business Vitality LLC was designed with one purpose in mind: To help individuals and businesses define their future and achieve it, rather than be forced to ride along on someone else's wave.

Company History

Business Vitality LLC began as a part-time endeavor in 1998 under the name of ShewTech Associates and has been in full-time operation since January 2000. Mary Anne Shew spent her 25-year corporate career in leadership positions at companies such as Kodak, GE, and Xerox. Her personal philosophy of learn something new every year led to starting her own web site development and Internet marketing company.

She found that she also performed informal business consulting during each engagement to get the information needed to build the best web site possible for each client. Clients appreciated this help as much as they appreciated the web site she created. In 2005, she officially added business coaching and consulting services as offerings and renamed her company Business Vitality LLC to reflect the change.

Mary Anne’s formal education includes a BA in Mathematics and a Masters in Business Administration. She is a Certified Business Coach and certified for the Talent, Values, and DISC individual assessments as well as the DIALOG organizational assessment.

She is affiliated with Resource Associates Corporation (RAC). RAC is an international network of expert and experienced business development and performance improvement professionals. Through RAC, Business Vitality has scalable resources to work with businesses of virtually any size.

Continuous Education

Mary Anne is a permanent student of life and business. She attends conferences 4-5 times a year to continually update her knowledge, skills, and contacts in improving human and business performance.

Understanding that the best way to learn something is to teach it, she has developed and delivered dozens of presentations, seminars, and workshops on a wide range of business topics.

She also reads 40-50 books a year on related topics and follows the blogs of leading thinkers. She has started and managed several book discussion groups, including a business owners book club that has met monthly since 2006.

Community Leadership

Mary Anne has served in various roles for business and community organizations such as Rochester (NY) Chapter of NAWBO, Western NY Chapter of PDMA, and Writers and Books. She was twice president of the Rochester (NY) Professional Consultants Network. She is a former board member of the Small Business Council and Webster Chamber of Commerce and former chairperson of the Rochester Business Alliance Membership Events Subcommittee. Mary Anne was twice nominated for the ATHENA Award for her leadership and community support. She is an avid networker who loves to connect people and share information.
